2005 Spring Meeting Annoucement

Dear Fisheries Administration Section Member:

Please hold May 20 - 22, 2005 for the Spring meeting of the American Fisheries Society - Fisheries Administration Section.

The meeting will be held at the Adams Mark in Buffalo, NY.

The meeting will be held Saturday, May 21st (all day) and Sunday, May 22 (morning - if necessary, desired).

Agenda/ Discussion items:

  • Interest has been expressed in presentations on New York's assessment of double-crested cormorant impacts to fish stocks and on the control measures implemented to date
  • North American Agenda for Aquatic Resources
  • National Fish Habitat Initiative / Eastern Brook Trout joint venture
  • Nominations/ election of new Section Officers
  • Others as proposed by FAS members - please provide to Doug soon.

Arrangements will be made for recreational opportunities (fishing!) on Friday, May, 20th and Sunday, May 22 (afternoon):

  • Friday - Lake Erie smallmouth bass
  • Friday - Niagara River steelhead/ trout
  • Friday (afternoon) - Lake Ontario trout/ salmon
  • Sunday (afternoon) - Lake Ontario trout/salmon
