FAS Members,
We welcome your participation at the Fisheries Administrators Section Spring Meeting to be held April 27 – 29 in Corpus Christi, Texas. The meeting will start Saturday, April 28th at 8:30 am, and we have the option of meeting Sunday morning if necessary. We have informal socials planned Friday and Saturday evenings.
We are seeking meeting agenda items of importance to you. We will be discussing the latest on the National Fish Habitat Action Plan and nominations for new officers among other important topics. Lodging and the FAS meeting will be at the Best Western Marina Grand Hotel http://www.marinagrandhotel.net/ located on the bay front in Corpus Christi. The Marina Grand Hotel is within walking distance of numerous restaurants in downtown Corpus. A block of rooms with a rate of $78 is being held under “Fisheries Administration Section” until March 27th. You will need to call 1-361-883-5119 to make your reservations at this rate. The hotel is 15 minutes from the Corpus Christi International Airport. Corpus Christi is the gateway to the Padre Island National Seashore and Port Aransas. For those interested in fishing opportunities, we have the option of saltwater fishing in nearby Corpus Christi bay or along the Gulf beachfront. Excellent freshwater fishing can be found just north of Corpus in Choke Canyon Reservoir. Let us know your fishing interests, and based on that response, we will work on the arrangements. Those activities would take place on Friday April 27th.
