2008 Spring Meeting

FAS Members,

A couple of weeks ago, you should have received an announcement for the U.S. EPA’s Annual National Conference on Enhancing the States’ Lake Management Programs, to be held April 29 through May 2 in Chicago.  Accompanying the announcement was a note from me, requesting that you attend.

There are now even more good reasons for you to attend that conference.  The FAS Executive Committee has decided to hold our Spring meeting in conjunction with the conference instead of coming to Nebraska.  I know, you were probably anxious to experience "The Good Life" for a few days, catch some fish, and partake of fine Nebraska cuisine, but we thought the opportunity to interact with "water quality people" was just too important to pass up.  We will meet in the conference hotel (Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza) all day on Tuesday, April 29.  In addition, Phil Durocher and Chris Horton are going to have a meeting on Wednesday morning in conjunction with the conference to talk about a Reservoir Partnership for the National Fish Habitat Initiative.

If you have topics for the FAS agenda, please forward them to me at don.gabelhouse@ngpc.ne.gov  and cc: Ken Kurzawski at ken.kurzawski@tpwd.state.tx.us.  Additional information on the FAS meeting, including registration, will be forwarded when details are finalized. For additional information on the EPA/NALMS conference, including lodging, go to  http://nalms.org/Conferences/2008Chicago/.

Please plan to join us in Chitown!
