It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Jack Dequine. Jack was the first fisheries biologist hired by the Game and Freshwater Fish Commission back in the late 1940s and later became the first fisheries chief (director). He was also the first president of the Southern Division of the American Fisheries Society in 1949. He owned and ran Southern Fish Culturists in Leesburg until recently. Jack was a long-time supporter of the Florida Chapter AFS, and he will be missed at the meetings.
We thank the many sponsors, who help make the meeting a great one.
