WE WANT YOU AT THE MEETING!!!!!!

Get your abstracts and/or your registration forms in for the 22nd Annual Florida Chapter Meeting of the American Fisheries Society. This is most likely our last year at the Withlacoochee Training Center in Brooksville and we want it to be a meeting that makes memories for everyone.  Please do your part to advertise this meeting and invite anyone and everyone with the slightest interest in Florida’s fisheries resources!  Reasons to attend: the meeting is centrally located and relatively inexpensive, the symposium is a hot topic in current fisheries science, the contributed papers will keep you riveted to the front of your seat, the business meeting will be short and to the point, the outdoor setting is comfy and casual and the camaraderie unbeatable. Oh…and of course, the Bonfires will be a blast and who knows what this year’s raffle will allow you to put in your car or truck to take home with you….could it be a canoe???  Better come and find out!

Best Student Poster and Paper Awards will be given to students presenting their research at our chapter meeting this year. Please inform students that there are travel grants available to attend the meeting at a reduced cost. We all know travel money is at a minimum when living on a student’s income, so let’s help get Florida’s future fishery scientists at this meeting.  It should be one to remember!
