In 2002, the Mulvihill Family and AREA (Aquaculture Research/Environmental Associates, Inc) established the MP Mulvihill Aquaculture Student Scholarship. This was a result of the passing of Michael Mulvihill after a short battle with cancer. Mr. Mulvihill was a life long aquaculturist and always believed in giving back and helping others in any possible way.

The scholarship is an annual scholarship in the amount of $1,500 for a deserving aquaculture student to help continue his/her education.
