Welcome to the Florida Chapter AFS Student Subunit website.

This student unit was organized as a subunit of the Florida Chapter of the American Fisheries Society in 2005 to promote the involvement of students at Florida colleges and universities in the affairs of the American Fisheries Society and to encourage the exchange of technical and regional fisheries information among student members of the Florida Chapter who belong to this subunit.

Membership

All undergraduate and graduate students at Florida colleges and universities with interests in fisheries and aquatic science are encouraged to become members of the student subunit. Subunit members must be active members of the Florida Chapter, defined as those members in good standing. No additional dues will be assessed for membership. Student dues collected by the Florida Chapter will be shared in a 50% split between the Chapter and the Subunit and will be used to fund specific subunit initiatives and activities. 

T-Shirt Design Contest

Attention all artists!! We are would like you to design a t-shirt logo for your subunit. Having t-shirts would not only be a great fundraiser, it would also be nice to have something to represent the organization at meetings and service events. The deadline to submit designs will be August 1, 2006. Please submit designs to Nicole, Jennie, or Matt.
