Hurricanes Dennis and Floyd plus general
procrastination have precluded a meaningful abstract. Presentation
will center on the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council's
decision to take emergency action and close the red porgy (Pagrus
pagrus) fishery. The stock assessment used to reach this
management action and the Council's rationale to close the fishery
will be discussed.
