2007 Spring Meeting Student Information
Student Workshop- In place of the normal student workshop the Student Affairs Committee and the Small Impoundments Committee will be producing a Pond Management 101 workshop that will be free to students who pre-register for the workshop. More information on this workshop can be found on the workshops page of this site.
Free Student Lodging-The SDAFS Student Affairs Committee will reserve a block of rooms for free student lodging during the Spring Meeting in Memphis. Free student lodging will be for two nights on February 9 and 10. Each room will be shared by four students of the same gender. Application deadline is January 15, 2007.
The SDAFS Spring meeting provides an excellent opportunity for students to develop professional skills. In addition to technical sessions addressing a variety of fisheries related issues, take advantage of the Friday workshops and the Saturday Student Mentor luncheon.
If you are interested in obtaining free lodging, send your name, address, school, gender, status (graduate or undergrad), AFS member number, and a statement about why you wish to attend the meeting to:

In the event that requests exceed the number of available spaces, the following criteria will be used to determine those receiving rooms:
- The applicant is presenting a paper or poster
- The date of the room request
- The applicant is a member of AFS
- The applicant is an undergraduate or graduate student
Scholarships-The Reservoir Committee will award one $1000 Robert M. Jenkins Memorial Scholarship to a graduate student in the southeastern United States that is conducting reservoir related fisheries research. The Warmwater Streams Committee will be offering the Jimmie Pigg Memorial Outstanding Student Award.
