PayPal Instructions
When registering for the 2010 Spring Meeting there are four possible payment categories: Registration Type, Workshop 1, Workshop 2 and Workshop 3. There are PayPal “Add to Cart” buttons for each of these categories. Each button includes a pull down for you to pick from. Since Workshop 4 is free there is no payment option. Likewise the student option in Workshop 3 is free so only the professional option is listed. The PayPal section is only used to collect payment; the registration form will determine who is enrolled in each workshop.
Anyone with a valid credit card can pay their registration by PayPal. There is one thing to note though. When testing I found PayPal will insist that you go through your PayPal account if it detects you have one. The way it detects that you have a PayPal account is by your email address or if you use a credit card that is stored at PayPal. It is up to you whether you want to go through your PayPal account. If you have an account and don’t want to use it then make sure you use an email address and credit card number not associated with any PayPal account. I have a PayPal account and I tested it both ways without incident.
Tip: If you do login and pay through your PayPal account, note that PayPal defaults first to any cash you have stored at PayPal and then to your registered bank account. If you have cash in your PayPal account you will usually have to remove it (by transferring it to your bank account) to pay by credit card. In addition if you want to pay by credit card make sure you click the change payment link to a stored credit card or add a new card for payment.
