Abstract. Largemouth bass, exceeding eight inches
in length, were requested for a four-year stocking study at Carr Fork Lake (Kentucky). The
fish were primarily produced on a pelleted diet and averaged 12 inches in length after a
17 to 23-month production period. Surplus forage fish were added to the ponds during the
winter and increased the cost of production. Survival of the fish from <2.0 to 12
inches was better than anticipated and exceeded 50% for three of the four years.
