SEAFWA- 2009 Call for Reviewers
Fisheries Folks,
It is that time of the year again! We are preparing for the upcoming 63 rd annual conference of the Southeastern Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies (SEAFWA) which will be November 1 – 4, 2009, in Atlanta, GA. Each year, SEAFWA publishes many of the papers presented at the meeting in the annual proceedings. All manuscripts undergo peer review (three reviewers per paper) to determine if they are acceptable for publication.
I am looking for peer reviewers for the manuscripts that are submitted. I need volunteers and that is why I am turning to you. This is a great opportunity for you, your graduate students, or your fisheries staff members to get a foot in the door as a journal referee. This experience will look good on resumes, gets exposure as a scientist, and most importantly contributes to the quality of scientific literature. If you are planning to obtain your AFS certification, this is also a great way to get Professional Development points.
Please let me know via email if you can spare some time to help SEAFWA by reviewing a manuscript or two, or would like to give your graduate students or staff the opportunity to learn the peer-review process under your direct supervision. Once I hear back from you, I will send you an information form so you indicate your area(s) of specialty.
Thank you for considering this request and I hope to hear from a number of you, both previous reviewers as well as new folks. For more information on the meeting, please visit the SEAFWA 2009 website: www.seafwa2009.org
