We welcome you to historic downtown Beaufort, NC for the 26th Annual Tidewater Chapter Meeting.
For the first time at this year’s meeting, we will be offering a free continuing education course on growth modeling on Thursday (3/8) from 12:00 to 4:00PM.
Topics:
* Linear and nonlinear models of length-weight and age-length
* Evaluating model assumptions and assessing fit
* Determining the best model for data
* Comparing parameter estimates fit to different data sets
Thursday night’s poster social will be held at the Beaufort Art Center in the heart of downtown.
Friday and Saturday presentations will be held at the NC Maritime Museum along with Friday’s dinner social. The museum has a new Blackbeard exhibit featuring pieces from the Queen Anne’s Revenge.
As part of the historic Beaufort experience rooms have been blocked off at the Inlet Inn on the waterfront. This hotel boasts not only spectacular views but is the only hotel within walking distance to the socials. Rooms are $90 per night and must be reserved by January 31, 2012.
Early registration will begin Dec. 1, 2011 and run through Jan. 31, 2012. During this time you will be able to submit abstracts and register for the continuing education course. Registration costs can also easily be submitted using PayPal (we will also accept cash and checks).
