The deadline for early registration for the 2010 Annual Meeting of the American Fisheries Society’s Tidewater Chapter has passed (2/19), however, late registration (additional $10 fee) is still open. Also, we are no longer accepting abstracts for oral presentations. If you would like to submit an abstract for the meeting, you will be limited to presenting a poster at the poster social on Thursday, March 18th. Registration fees for this years meeting are as follows:
$90 – Full Meeting (Professional) Includes all socials and events.
$70 – Full Meeting (Student) Includes all socials and events.
$45 – One Day (Friday Only) – Professional and Student.

STUDENT PAPER AWARDS
Are you a student submitting an abstract for a poster or platform presentation? If so, read the scoring criteria for student paper awards.
Tickets to the Poster Social (Thursday, March 18th) and the Dinner Social (Friday, March 19th) will be available for guests. These tickets can be purchased when you pick up your meeting materials at the Registration Desk in the Hotel. If you plan on bringing a guest, please complete the section of the registration form regarding guest attendance. This information is important for us to know when working with the caterers for the socials. Ticket costs for the socials are as follows:
$30 – Poster Social (Thursday, March 18th – Naval Academy Stadium).
$40 – Dinner Social (Friday, March 19th – Chesapeake Bay Foundation).

Payments must be made by CASH or CHECK only. No credit cards will be accepted... we do not have the ability at DNR to process credit cards… sorry!
Checks should be made out to Tidewater Chapter – AFS. We prefer that you bring your payment with you at the time of the meeting – but if you must send it in early, please send your check to:

Hotel Information
[UPDATE] February 19, 2010. The room block at the Annapolis Loews Hotel is now full. If you are planning to attend the meeting and haven’t reserved your room yet, there are still rooms available at the Loews but the $99 price is no longer guaranteed. There are a number of other hotels in the Annapolis area if the Loews reaches no vacancy. A list of alternative hotels are listed below.

The Westin Annapolis (Make sure you reserve your room at the Westin at 100 Westgate Circle, Annapolis, MD).
Doubletree Hotel Annapolis (This hotel is not in the downtown district).

The 2010 Annual Meeting of the American Fisheries Society’s Tidewater Chapter will be held at the Loews Annapolis Hotel from March 18 – 20, 2010. We are pleased to be able to offer a reduced room rate of $99 per night (plus taxes) at the Loews Hotel for folks on attending the meeting. We have secured that rate for 30 rooms, but rooms must be booked prior to February 16, 2010. After this date, availability and rates cannot be guaranteed.
The Loews Hotel is offering two options to book. Guests may make reservations by calling 800-526-2593 and requesting the rooms from the AFS Tidewater meeting. Or guests can book rooms on-line. Go to the HOTEL WEBSITE, and choose “Annapolis” as the destination. Then choose the dates of check in and departure, choose “Group” from the Partner/Group Rates drop down, and enter the group code “AME318.” Once you see the page for your event, simply follow the prompts. When the reservation process is completed, the confirmation number will be issued, and the reservation will be in our system.
Check in time is 3 PM and check out time is 11 AM. Lastly, the hotel does offer valet parking. Rates are $22 per night. We are looking into additional parking alternatives and will post that information on the Tidewater Chapter Website as soon as possible.
Membership Dues
Membership dues are not included in the registration fee for the 2010 Annual Meeting. You can update your membership at the registration desk at the hotel prior to the meeting. Some of you may have renewed your Tidewater Chapter membership through the Parent Society, however, their website does not reflect the $3 increase in our dues for 2010. Therefore, you will be notified of any dues owed to the Tidewater Chapter when you pick up your registration materials. Membership dues are as follows:
$10 Annual Membership fee for Professionals and Students not belonging to one of the recognized AFS student subunits. Members of the following subunits shall be recognized as Chapter members:

University of Maryland Eastern Shore
Duke University
$150 for a Lifetime Membership
